Many of us have grown up hearing stories from the Bible. Noah’s Ark. Jonah and the big fish. Many more have grown up seeing the Bible as an unattainable list of rules to follow. But have we ever stepped back to see the message as a whole? What if the Bible was, in fact, a very large, complex story of God’s plan to save us, and all he created? This week we walk through The Story, focusing on the past that brought us here, and the promises meant to guide our future.
So many people want the perfect life. We want to work the most rewarding jobs, have the happiest families, and take the best trips. And when we see others living the life we wish we had, that familiar thought swims into our heads: “I want more.” But true contentment isn’t about a picture-perfect life. This week we dive into the perils of comparison and explore what living your best life truly means.
Remember when you were a kid and you flew a kite? The sense of awe? Of wonder? The way it made you dream? What if that’s what we were made for? To dream God sized dreams. What if we were never made for our dreams to die, but it’s our dreams that change the world? As we celebrate our second birthday we remember the dream that started City North Church, and learn to dream together again.
